The Cogniva Information Science Research Institute (CISRI) is a premier international centre for the study of information science. Home to renowned researchers with a broad spectrum of expertise, CISRI intends to act as a centre of excellence and a catalyst for collaborative, interdisciplinary research. By supporting and networking talented minds from academia, industry and public institutions, CISRI aims to expand the horizons of information science through its innovative and pioneering research.
CISRI researchers explore the role and nature of information in complex organizations and investigate new approaches and methods for modelling organizational information flow, monitoring information compliance and designing new semantic technologies.
CISRI seeks to provide leadership on complex challenges in today’s information economy regarding the production, use, sharing and preservation of its vast and growing body of digital content. Through its findings, CISRI will help organizations of all kinds bridge the gap between theoretical research and pragmatic application.
As an advocate of collaborative research, CISRI is affiliated with a range of academic institutions and research bodies, including the Canadian National Research Council, the University of Montreal, the Université du Québec, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, the University of Technology of Troyes in France, CNAM in Paris, and is a member of the Language Technology Research Centre.
